DADDY, THIS MIGHT CONTAIN SPOILERS INCASE YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY READ ALL OF WATCHMEN, KAY?! KAY :D
I should update mo'
Fo sho'
Yes there is supposed to be a question mark in the title. :D
In a recent wave of stumbling upon a lot of lols, I came across this -
http://www.slashfilm.com/2008/11/17/first-look-watchmen-video-game/
Oh my god. What the hell. I'm really not sure whether to cry, laugh or shoot everyone making this game (although that would kind of put the Watchmen film on hold a LOT seeing as Zack Snyder is working on the game as well sooo nevermind).
Ok well first things first. Alan Moore who wrote Watchmen in the first place, disapproves of the film adaptation of his baby. Which ok... is kind of a little extreme but I can see why. It's definitely one of those things that if you muck it up, it's just gone and irreparable (much like Rorschach). Soo while I'm actually very optimistic about the film and think that Alan Moore should just relax (after all, more credit for writin' the beauty in the first place, hmm?) I kind of draw the line at games.
Except the fact that it will have co-operable playing makes it really appealing to me. And the two characters you can play as are Rorschach and Nite Owl. LIEK OMG, MINE AND NATS TWO FAV CHARRIES. SHE CAN BE NITE OWL AND I CAN BE RORSCHACH ARGHH. I mean what the hell. Why did they have to go and do that? Make me go against all my better instincts like this -
"Oh its a game cool!
Wait they're going to completely ruin this...
But its based on the film so thats ok...
But Alan Moore despises it!"
DAMN I WANT TO CO-OP!"
Something someone said about this game made me almost make a puddle in my pants -
"Rorschach and Nite Owl: Together Again."
WHY DO THEY MAKE THEM BOTH OUT TO BE SOME KIND OF GAY COUPLE OR SOMETHING!?
On a related note, I love Watchmen. It's good as just a straightforward story, a heart-rending narrative and clever characters who you know are doing other things while you're reading about the other characters. But seriously, when the reader feels sorry for a character who has the surprise of the picture of the next month on his calendar spoilt for him, DO YOU NOT THINK THAT THE CHARACTER IS JUST TOTALLY AMAZING TO GET THAT MUCH SYMPATHY/EMPATHY FROM THE READER!?
I wish I could write like that... well, I don't know. Not exactly like that. I just want characters like that. Deep characters. Who've had a lot of thought put into them. But it takes guts to create characters who aren't stereotypical, and have flaws, REALLY BIG flaws. I suppose what helps the cast of Watchmen is that they're aged and have history. They have brains, personalities, mental handicaps and habits.
Yay for sugar cubes :D Except I hate them.
Also - Twilight gets more scary with A REAL EDWARD BODY GLITTER OH MY FRICK.
Does the world not get any more insane than teasing me with sinful Watchmen Games and making me want to gauge my eyes out with a fork because of Twilight products so you can be your own real life Edward Cullen!? WHAT THE HELL :D
