Apocalypse

I have a few friends who have genuinely made plans for if there's an apocalypse. I don't think at this stage in humanity's history there's an apocalypse on the horizon, but nor do I rule out that some horrific event could occur in my lifetime. The thing is, I don't think my friends have really thought it through. Because they haven't just made plans - they genuinely want it to happen. Like, not immediately, but in the event that it would happen, they'd be prepared and think it was cool.

Though as I said, I don't think they've really thought it all through. They haven't considered some minor points which may deter them from this desire. Considering what I said earlier - I reckon there's a chance it could happen sometime in my lifetime - me and my friends won't be as youthful as we are now. We're all nearly 20, give it another 30 years its a more plausible scenario. But then we're 50. How long do they expect we'll last in a n extreme survival world we've never had training for? We can't run as fast from possible zombies/crazy creatures, we won't have young bodies to fight off infection, ash storms will clog up our lungs... we'd die pretty fast.

Even if we did get all that out of the way, there's other stuff too. The first months are the worst. There's chaos, fire, people dying, people screaming, desperate people. It's not like after a few years, where things calm down, society starts to pull itself back together somewhat or people are just surviving. There'll be fights over food. You'll constantly smell of your own defecations because how much is running water still going to be an option? You will get used to the smell of it eventually but even still, I don't think people remember this fact. Look at homeless people for an example of kind of what it would be like...
